Eddyville, KY – In a significant development, Bible Missionary Baptist Church has announced the appointment of Dr. Don R. Houston as its new pastor. Dr. Houston, accompanied by his wife Helen, brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to service to the Paducah community.
A native of Murray, Dr. Houston’s journey to pastoral ministry is rooted in his upbringing in Paducah. He obtained his undergraduate degrees from Murray State University and later pursued a Doctor of Ministry degree from Luther Rice Seminary in Lithonia, Georgia. His dedication to both faith and country is evident through his service in Vietnam from 1967 to 1969, followed by two years as a Staff Sergeant E-6 in the Tennessee Army National Guard, where he organized training schedules.
Dr. Houston’s career in ministry spans several states, including Tennessee, Kentucky, and Arkansas, where he has passionately shepherded congregations. His international outreach includes two mission trips to East Africa, during which he imparted theological education and delivered sermons in Uganda and South Sudan. Notably, he also served as president of the J.H. S Spencer Historical Society for three terms, demonstrating his commitment to preserving religious heritage.

The church, located at 483 State Route 730, Eddyville, hosts worship services every Sunday at 11:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., as well as on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
