The Command from God

1. God Protects Those Who Obey Him
The Israelites followed God’s command to battle the Midianites. Because of their obedience, God protected them. Not a single man was lost. When we walk in obedience to God, we can trust that He will be our shield, even in the toughest battles.
Psalm 91:11 says:“For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.”
When we obey God’s will and walk in His ways, He surrounds us with His protection—even when the situation is dangerous or scary.
2. Be Accountable and Responsible
The officers in this verse show a good example of leadership. They didn’t just assume everything was fine. They counted, they checked, and they reported honestly. This shows care, attention, and integrity.
In our own lives, we must learn to be accountable—especially in areas where we have responsibilities:
- Parents should be aware of their children’s needs.
- Church leaders should care for their flock.

James 1:17 says:“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights…”
We are called to recognize the Giver behind every gift.
