The Tribe of Gad
Gad was one of the sons of Jacob. His mother was Zilpah, Leah’s servant. The tribe of Gad came from his descendants. In this verse, the Bible lists the number of men from Gad’s tribe who were counted in the census.
Gad’s tribe was important in Israel. They settled on the east side of the Jordan River. They were known as brave warriors. When Moses led the Israelites through the wilderness, the tribe of Gad remained strong.
