A man in Virginia allegedly mistook a Wednesday night Bible study for a “human trafficking operation,” prompting a chaotic response from authorities. On February 5, 2025, at around 7:35 p.m., deputies were called to a disturbance on Renee Road, where a confrontation was rapidly escalating. The caller, later identified as Campbell, was upset about his neighbors being double-parked and took it upon himself to investigate the situation.
Authorities say Campbell entered his neighbors’ home and, upon seeing multiple people gathered, falsely assumed it was a human trafficking operation. He then contacted law enforcement, demanding they investigate the residence. During the call, dispatchers reported hearing Campbell taunting and cursing at the neighbors.
Deputies quickly arrived at Campbell’s residence, where they found him standing in the roadway. He continued to complain about the parking issue and insisted that officers “identify everyone” inside the neighbor’s house.
According to witnesses, Campbell forced his way into the residence to confront the occupants, coming dangerously close to striking an ordained minister and threatening to punch another man. The entire incident was captured on surveillance footage, though it has not been made public.
Campbell was taken into custody and held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
