The Bronze Altar

1.”You are also to build an altar of acacia wood. The altar shall be square, five cubits long, five cubits wide, and three cubits high.

2. Make horns for it on its four corners; ensure that the horns are of one piece. Overlay it with bronze.

3. Make all its utensils of bronze—its pots to remove the ashes, its shovels, sprinkling bowls, meat forks, and firepans.

4. Construct a grate for the altar, a bronze network, and mount four bronze rings at its four corners.

5. Set it beneath the ledge of the altar, so that it extends halfway up the altar.

6. Make poles of acacia wood for the altar and overlay them with bronze.

7. Insert the poles into the rings on the two sides of the altar, so it can be carried.

8. Construct the altar with boards so that it is hollow. As the LORD had commanded Moses, so he made the altar.

The Courtyard

9. “You are also to construct the courtyard of the tabernacle. On the south side, make curtains for the courtyard of finely spun linen, 100 cubits long on one side,

10. with twenty posts and twenty bronze bases, and with silver hooks and bands on the posts.

11. On the north side, make curtains 100 cubits long, with twenty posts and twenty bronze bases, and with silver hooks and bands on the posts.

12. On the west side, the width of the courtyard shall be fifty cubits, with ten posts and ten bases.

13. The east side, toward the sunrise, shall also be fifty cubits wide.

14. Make curtains fifteen cubits long for the one side, with three posts and three bases,

15. and make curtains fifteen cubits long for the other side, with three posts and three bases.

16. For the gate of the courtyard, make a curtain of twenty cubits of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen, the work of a embroiderer, with four posts and four bases.

17. All the posts around the courtyard are to be banded with silver and have silver hooks and bronze bases.

18. The length of the courtyard shall be 100 cubits, the width fifty, and the height five cubits, with finely spun linen and bronze bases.

19. All the utensils of the tabernacle for every use, including all its tent pegs and all the tent pegs of the courtyard, are to be made of bronze.

The Oil for the Lamps

20. “Command the Israelites to bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to keep the lamps burning continually.

21. In the Tent of Meeting, outside the veil that is before the Testimony, Aaron and his sons are to tend the lamps before the LORD from evening until morning. This is to be a permanent statute for the Israelites throughout their generations.”
