New Series “The Promised Land” to Film in Washington County
A new TV series, “The Promised Land,” is set to begin filming in Southern Utah, bringing biblical stories to life in a relatable way. The production team will start shooting episodes at the end of September.
Richie Johns, the producer of the mockumentary, expressed excitement about filming in Washington County. “After exploring various locations across the country, we found that Southern Utah is the perfect fit for our Old Testament series. The stunning red rocks and sandy landscapes in St. George provide the ideal backdrop we’ve been searching for,” Johns stated. Mitch Hudson, the director of “The Promised Land,” shared that their YouTube pilot received a positive response, fueling his excitement to film the rest of the season in Southern Utah. The pilot was originally shot in the fall of 2022 in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
As production kicks off, fans can look forward to a unique portrayal of biblical narratives set against the breathtaking scenery of Southern Utah.
